The candidate will manage a significant caseload, provide expert legal counsel to clients, and represent them in criminal proceedings at various levels. Fluency in Spanish, strong interpersonal skills, and extensive experience in handling complex criminal cases are essential for this role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney and collaborate on case strategies.
  • Manage a diverse caseload involving criminal defense matters and maintain direct client interaction.
  • Advise clients on their legal rights, draft legal documents, and provide legal opinions on case strategy.
  • Attend pretrial hearings, represent clients, and provide strategic advice following each hearing.
  • Conduct court appearances, trials, draft motions, interview witnesses, and conduct thorough legal research.
  • Analyze potential case outcomes based on legal precedents and formulate effective defense strategies.
  • Effectively manage workload, prioritize cases, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Provide detailed legal analysis to clients, outlining potential case benefits and risks.
  • Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or challenge prosecution's charges.
  • Prepare clients for depositions, determine case strategy goals, and gather information from relevant witnesses and experts.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Arizona in good standing.
  • 4-5 years of progressive experience practicing criminal defense law, with a proven track record of handling complex cases at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
