Job Overview

A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. This role involves handling personal injury cases from inception through resolution, including pre-litigation settlement negotiations and all aspects of litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience in personal injury litigation, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to client service.

Duties

  • Negotiate pre-litigation and litigation settlements with insurance companies and defense counsel
  • Litigate personal injury cases from filing complaints through to resolution
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Appear in court for hearings and motions
  • Conduct legal research and provide writing support
  • Communicate effectively with clients, keeping them informed throughout the case
  • Prepare pre-trial motions in limine and assist in trial preparation
  • Chair trials when necessary
  • Review cases for settlement opportunities and draft settlement demands
  • Correspond with insurance companies and defense counsel as needed

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of personal injury case handling experience
  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of California
  • Strong knowledge of California civil procedure for State Court cases
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Bilingual (Spanish and/or Armenian) is preferred
  • Reliable transportation

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California

Skills

  • Proficiency in personal injury law and litigation
  • Ability to manage a full caseload from start to finish
  • Strong writing, research, and legal drafting skills
  • Experience with law and motion practice
  • Skilled in negotiation and settlement strategies
