Senior Family Litigation Associate

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a senior-level litigation associate with at least five (5) years of experience in Matrimonial and Family Law. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with litigation partners, representing clients in complex family law matters. Location:
Buffalo, NY

Duties:

• Represent clients in matrimonial and family law matters, including divorce, custody, and support cases
• Manage cases from inception to resolution, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial proceedings
• Draft legal documents such as petitions, motions, and settlement agreements
• Conduct depositions and engage in discovery-related activities
• Provide legal counsel and strategy recommendations to clients
• Collaborate with litigation partners on case strategies and legal tactics
• Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with deadlines
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Matrimonial and Family Law
• Strong experience with depositions, litigation, and trial preparation
• Proven ability to manage complex family law cases
• Excellent writing, research, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Must be licensed to practice law in New York State

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New York State

Skills:

• Strong litigation experience, particularly in family and matrimonial law
• Exceptional legal writing, research, and communication skills
• High attention to detail and organizational abilities
