A law firm in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Corporate Associate Attorney - Tax to join their cross-office tax and corporate transactional teams. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of law firm experience in U.S. federal income tax matters, with a strong academic background and exceptional written and oral communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-office tax and corporate transactional teams to deliver integrated legal services.
  • Provide expert legal advice on U.S. federal income tax issues related to corporate transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex tax-related agreements and documentation.
  • Conduct detailed tax research and analysis to support corporate strategies and ensure compliance.
  • Structure corporate transactions to optimize tax efficiency and adhere to federal regulations.
  • Manage client relationships with clear and effective communication on tax matters.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in tax laws and regulations, advising clients on their implications.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and discussions on tax and corporate matters.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in a law firm specializing in U.S. federal income tax matters.
  • Strong academic credentials, including a JD from an accredited law school.
  • Proven experience handling tax-related legal issues and corporate transactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Indiana Bar (or eligibility to obtain admission).
  • Certification or specialization in tax law is preferred but not required.
