A law firm in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Case Development Intake Attorney to collaborate closely with an assigned case manager, managing a docket of approximately 50 cases. The role involves extensive investigation, evidence preservation, and case triaging, focusing on personal injury and commercial cases. This position requires strong leadership skills, bilingual proficiency (Spanish preferred), and the ability to manage client interactions effectively.

 

Duties:

  • Work closely with an assigned case manager to oversee and manage a docket of approximately 50 cases
  • Investigate and preserve evidence, including securing accident reports and property damage photos
  • Investigate scenes, obtain witness statements, and perform criminal and social media investigations
  • Develop medical aspects of cases, including ordering lifetime driving records and assisting clients in developing medical damages
  • Send letters of representation and open record act requests
  • Handle property damage claims and maintain regular communication with clients and adjusters
  • Prepare and approve expense requests related to case development
  • Prepare monthly status reports for clients and submit case reviews per firm policy
  • Manage clients throughout the case development intake process in preparation for file transfer to the litigation team
  • Prepare and document demands and act as a liaison between management and adverse adjusters for case settlements
  • Accept incoming calls from potential new clients (PNCs), ascertain relevant facts of their claims, and explain attorney-client contracts
  • Secure authorization for signing up, declining, or further evaluating claims
  • Conduct sign-ups in and out of the office and cover on a rotational basis
  • Address and return all client calls by the end of the business day
  • Perform out-of-office sign-ups and after-hours on-call duties as needed
  • Ensure 100% compliance with grade cards and uphold ethical and legal obligations
  • Maximize case values and recover attorney fees
  • Handle additional projects as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing
  • 0-3 years of personal injury experience preferred
  • Previous customer service or sales experience preferred, with after-hours on-call experience
  • Previous experience supervising non-attorneys is advantageous
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus
