A law firm in Seattle is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Patent Associate Attorney who possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong technical background in computer technology. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution, with hands-on experience working with a diverse range of clients, from startups to Fortune 500 companies. Experience in various technology areas, including mechanical devices, consumer products, and designs, as well as technical expertise in cloud computing, cryptography, information security, robotics, or blockchain, is highly desirable. Candidates must have a CS, BSEE, physics degree, or equivalent experience and be admitted to practice before the USPTO.

Duties:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications in a variety of technology areas.
  • Conduct detailed patent searches and analyses to support patent applications and litigation.
  • Draft and file patent applications, responses to office actions, and other related documents.
  • Work with clients to understand their technology and business needs, and provide strategic patent advice.
  • Manage and oversee the patent application process from initial filing to issuance.
  • Advise clients on patent portfolio management and strategy.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and technical experts to develop and implement patent strategies.
  • Stay updated on trends and developments in patent law and technology.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
  • Technical background in computer technology is required.
  • Hands-on experience with clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
  • Experience in a variety of technology areas, such as mechanical devices, consumer products, and designs, is highly desirable.
  • Technical experience in cloud computing, cryptography, information security, robotics, or blockchain is a plus.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice before the USPTO as a patent attorney.
  • A degree in Computer Science (CS), Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), physics, or equivalent experience.

Education:
