General Liability Associate Attorney

A law firm in Deerfield Beach, FL is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in general liability law, including experience in premises liability. This role involves managing complex cases, conducting thorough legal research, drafting substantial legal documents, and representing clients in various legal settings. The candidate must demonstrate exceptional litigation skills and a strong work ethic while meeting an annual billable hour requirement.

Duties:

• Review and analyze files related to general liability claims and causes of action.
• Conduct extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Represent clients regularly in court, at arbitrations, and during depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses as needed.
• Prepare for and attend trials, including developing case strategies and presenting evidence.
• Meet an annual billable hour requirement of 1950 hours.
• Handle case-related travel as needed for client meetings, court appearances, and depositions.
• Respond promptly to email and phone inquiries from clients and colleagues.
• Demonstrate excellent client interaction skills and maintain a professional telephone manner.

Requirements:

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admitted to practice in the State of Florida; admission in additional states is a plus.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in general liability, with experience in premises liability preferred.
• Exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong research capabilities and effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to self-manage a high caseload while working effectively in a team environment.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting annual billable hour targets.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in Florida; additional state admissions are advantageous.
