Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a qualified Data Privacy Attorney to join its International Section. This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney with a strong interest or experience in data privacy, artificial intelligence, and international regulatory matters. The position involves working closely with senior shareholders to assist clients with international data privacy compliance, as well as participating in other international legal matters as needed.

Location:

  • Salt Lake City, UT

Duties:

  • Advise clients on data privacy compliance for international activities, including EU GDPR and other data privacy laws.
  • Develop data privacy strategies and operational guidelines.
  • Supervise associates and paralegals, coordinating with foreign counsel to understand relevant international laws.
  • Draft and review data privacy-related legal documents.
  • Assist with other matters in the International Section, such as artificial intelligence compliance and international regulatory matters.
  • Support cross-border transactions and handle other legal issues as assigned by senior shareholders.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior attorneys and staff.

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of legal practice, with experience in data privacy laws (EU GDPR or similar international data privacy laws preferred).
  • Experience in regulatory, corporate, and international legal matters is a plus.
  • Law firm experience is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance multiple projects.
  • Ability to supervise and lead a team of junior attorneys and staff.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • High level of motivation and a commitment to ethics.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters and collaborate on challenging issues.
  • Prior experience with artificial intelligence compliance and cross-border transactions is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Member of the Utah Bar (preferred) or willingness to join the Utah Bar if licensed in another state.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of international data privacy laws, including EU GDPR.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing a team and supervising junior attorneys.
