Duties

  • Client Case Management:

    • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
    • Advise clients on litigation options, including settlement strategies.
    • Prepare clients for hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
    • Maintain client files, both electronic and physical, ensuring proper documentation and organization.
  • Litigation & Trial Support:

    • Represent clients in various litigation hearings, including motions, management conferences, and mandatory settlement conferences.
    • Act as second chair during trials and assist with trial preparation as needed.
    • Draft, review, and oppose motions as part of the litigation process.
  • Communication:

    • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to ensure smooth case progression.
    • Handle client correspondence and provide regular updates on case developments.
  • General Office Support:

    • Assist other team members with administrative tasks as necessary, contributing to the overall functionality of the firm.
    • Ensure deadlines are met and that the overall execution of client cases is handled efficiently and professionally.

Requirements

  • Licensing:

    • Must be admitted to the State Bar of California.
    • No disciplinary history with any State Bar.
  • Experience:

    • 1-5 years of experience in civil litigation, including courtroom experience.
    • Experience with drafting and responding to discovery requests and preparing legal documents.
    • Familiarity with case management software and legal pleading preparation tools.
  • Attributes:

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on meeting deadlines.
    • Able to collaborate effectively with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients.
    • Proficiency in using technology and legal software.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited or California-accredited law school.

Certifications
