A law firm seeks a highly skilled Partner-level Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to join its team, specializing in complex insurance defense matters. This remote position requires a candidate with a strong background in trucking and premises liability and the capability to manage high-stakes cases effectively. The role is designed for an experienced attorney ready to bring their expertise in insurance defense litigation to a dynamic, remote setting.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in all stages of insurance defense litigation, including initial analysis, discovery, motion practice, and trial.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of complex insurance defense matters, with a particular focus on trucking and premises liability cases.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies aligned with clients' objectives and case goals.
  • Conduct thorough case assessments, prepare pleadings, draft motions, and handle discovery-related matters.
  • Communicate case strategies, updates, and progress clearly and effectively with clients.
  • Negotiate settlements, participate in mediations, and advocate on behalf of clients in hearings and trials.
  • Mentor and guide junior attorneys, contributing to the development of the firm’s insurance defense team.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Texas and Oklahoma insurance defense statutes and case law, ensuring compliance and effectiveness in all legal proceedings.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in insurance defense litigation, with extensive exposure to trucking and premises liability cases.
  • Dual licensure in Texas and Oklahoma, with active good-standing membership in both state bars.
  • Proven ability to manage cases independently from inception to resolution.
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills, with a demonstrated history of successful client advocacy.
  • Proficiency in managing client communications, setting expectations, and delivering results.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • An active Texas State Bar license is required.
  • An Oklahoma State Bar license is also required.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of insurance defense litigation, particularly in trucking and premises liability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear client interactions and effective advocacy.
  • Strong negotiation abilities and experience in settlement discussions, mediations, and trial advocacy.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, demonstrating self-discipline and accountability.
