Job Overview:
A well-established Houston-based civil litigation firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its team. The firm specializes in employment, civil rights, and general litigation matters, including premises liability and personal injury defense. The ideal candidate will have 0-3 years of litigation experience and possess a strong desire to handle a diverse caseload while growing in their legal career. This role offers the opportunity to develop a solid foundation in litigation and provide high-quality legal representation in both state and federal courts.

Location:

Duties:

  • Assist with and independently manage a docket of cases involving premises liability, personal injury defense, and other civil litigation matters.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Participate in and defend depositions.
  • Attend court hearings, pre-trial conferences, and trials.
  • Develop case strategies and advise clients on legal options and potential outcomes.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case management and litigation strategies.
  • Maintain effective client communication and case documentation.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced, diverse work environment.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of litigation experience.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Experience drafting legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery.
  • Comfort with conducting depositions and representing clients in court.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a goal-driven mindset.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to handle a high volume of work.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar (or eligibility to be admitted).
