The law firm, located in Houston, is seeking a Junior to Mid-level Associate Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in electrical engineering or computer science, possess exceptional academic achievement, and exhibit strong writing and communication skills. The role requires JD and admission to the USPTO.

 

Duties:

  • Conducting patent prosecution in the areas of electrical engineering, computer science, software-related technologies, data science, AI, networking technologies (especially network security), machine learning, artificial intelligence, and hardware security.
  • Drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis related to patent issues.
  • Providing legal counsel on intellectual property matters.
  • Collaborating with clients and inventors to understand and address their patent needs.
  • Managing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date case files.

 

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • 2+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
  • High level of academic achievement.
  • The solid law firm, engineering, and industry experience.

  • Proficiency in patent prosecution.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property law.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients and inventors.
