A law firm is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate Attorney with 1-5 years of experience to join their Sacramento, CA office. The ideal candidate will have experience handling California wage-hour class action claims and PAGA cases and be adept at managing all phases of employment litigation. Strong writing and analytical skills, along with excellent academic credentials, are essential for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle employment litigation cases, including California wage-hour class action claims and PAGA cases.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests and initial pleadings.
  • Draft, argue, and respond to motions.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze case law.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations.
  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients on employment-related issues.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience in employment litigation.
  • Experience with California wage-hour class action claims and PAGA cases.
  • Comfort with drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions.
  • Must be admitted to practice law in California.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Preferred: Some experience in employment law.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficient in drafting legal documents, including discovery requests, pleadings, and motions.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Experience in handling wage-hour class actions and PAGA cases is highly desirable.
