Job Overview

A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced mid to senior-level associate to join their Employment Group. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in employment counseling and will work on cross-border and global employment issues. This position will involve providing advice on corporate transactions, reductions in force, employee mobility, and restrictive covenants. The associate will also support emerging companies in all aspects of employment law. The role requires flexibility, a strong academic background, and a collaborative approach to work.

Duties

  • Provide employment counseling for corporate transactions, including conducting employment diligence.
  • Advise on the employment aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate deals.
  • Draft and negotiate employment, retention, and related agreements.
  • Counsel clients on employee terminations, reductions in force, and workforce restructuring.
  • Advise on restrictive covenants, employee mobility, and non-compete agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to emerging companies on various employment law matters.
  • Collaborate with attorneys from other offices to manage global employment issues.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in employment counseling (domestic and/or international).
  • Experience in an AmLaw 100 law firm is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal matters independently.
  • Strong knowledge of international employment laws and cross-border matters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction where applying.
