A law firm located in Edwardsville is seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in managing and litigating cases, particularly in personal injury law. This role involves a wide range of legal tasks, including case management, legal research, and client communication. The Associate Attorney will work closely with a team of paralegals and legal assistants to handle a large volume of cases efficiently and effectively.

 

Duties:

  • Learn and apply filing and case management procedures for various Multidistrict Litigations.
  • Research and prepare legal pleadings and memoranda.
  • Assist with conducting, preparing, and reviewing discovery.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients and defense counsel.
  • Manage and oversee a large client volume by delegating and evaluating assignments to team paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Appear in court as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of legal procedures and processes for case discovery, filing, motion practice, and case management.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel), Adobe, and Outlook.
  • Licensed to practice law in any state, with a preference for Missouri and/or Illinois.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in good standing, with licensure in any state required.
  • Licensure in Missouri and/or Illinois preferred.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong organizational and case management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of clients and delegate tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using legal research tools and case management software.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of attorney experience.
  • Personal injury experience preferred.
