Job Overview

A respected law firm is seeking a talented Mid-Level Associate to join its national Employee Benefits practice. The ideal candidate will bring at least three years of experience in employee benefits law, with expertise in ERISA, retirement plans, executive compensation, health & welfare benefits, fringe benefits, and M&A-related employee benefits issues. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic team on complex legal matters, providing strategic advice to clients.

Duties

  • Provide expert legal advice on employee benefits matters, including qualified retirement plans, executive compensation, health & welfare benefits, and fringe benefits.
  • Advise clients on employee benefits issues related to mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring.
  • Translate complex legal matters into clear, practical advice for clients.
  • Draft legal documents, including memos, reports, and client communications.
  • Conduct legal research on emerging employee benefits issues and regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop creative solutions to complex legal problems.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing high-quality service and strategic guidance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in employee benefits law, with a focus on ERISA.
  • Experience with qualified retirement plans, executive compensation, health & welfare plans, fringe benefits, and/or M&A-related employee benefits issues.
  • Strong academic credentials and a proven ability to handle complex legal matters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex legal issues into actionable, understandable advice.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in the state

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of ERISA and employee benefits law.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice for clients.
