Liability Defense Attorney

A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Liability Defense Attorney to join its Newark, DE office. This role is ideal for an attorney with 1-3 years of experience in general litigation or liability defense. The successful candidate will work on a range of civil defense matters, focusing on liability cases. Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation, specifically in liability defense cases
• Handle all phases of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, depositions, and motions
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
• Work closely with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and advise clients
• Manage client relationships, providing regular updates and legal counsel
• Appear in court for hearings, depositions, and trials as necessary
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient case management
• Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations related to liability defense

Requirements:

• Admission to the Delaware Bar (required)
• 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on liability defense preferred
• General litigation experience is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
• Proactive and self-motivated with a client-focused approach

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Delaware State Bar (required)

• Experience in civil litigation, particularly liability defense
• Strong research, writing, and legal analysis skills
• Effective oral communication and advocacy abilities
