Job Overview

A distinguished law firm is seeking a Junior Energy Transactions Associate to join its team in Houston. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in energy and infrastructure transactions, with a strong background in financing or private M&A transactions. This role provides an opportunity to work on high-profile energy and infrastructure projects in a collaborative environment with opportunities for training and mentorship.

Location

  • Houston, TX

Duties

  • Work on various Energy & Infrastructure transactions, including project financing and private M&A
  • Handle matters across the entire project lifecycle, including sustainability-linked and green loan financing structures
  • Collaborate with a team representing prominent stakeholders in the US and international energy markets
  • Engage in hands-on legal work, gaining practical experience at every stage of the transaction
  • Provide support on tax equity and IRA credit matters, as applicable

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in energy and infrastructure transactions, focusing on financing and/or private M&A
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to assume immediate responsibility and work collaboratively within a high-performing team
  • Preferred experience in project and energy financing and/or energy and infrastructure-related M&A transactions

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active membership and good standing with the Texas State Bar

Skills

  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Familiarity with tax equity structures is advantageous
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
