Job Overview:
A law firm located in San Ramon, CA, is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join their team. This is a remote position with opportunities for significant client interaction, litigation experience, and professional growth. The ideal candidate will possess 5-20 years of experience in personal injury law, with a strong background in handling complex insurance defense matters. The attorney will manage their caseload, participate in depositions, work with expert witnesses, and contribute to trial preparations. Opportunities for a second chair and potential first chair trial experience are available.

Duties:

• Conduct initial file reviews, draft evaluations, and develop discovery plans
• Depose and defend depositions of parties and experts
• Collaborate with paralegals in obtaining, reviewing, and summarizing medical records
• Maintain communication with clients, providing timely case updates and reports
• Retain and consult with expert witnesses
• Perform legal research and draft memoranda as required
• Prepare trial documents and assist in trial preparations
• Manage all aspects of case management and documentation
• Participate in second chair trial roles, with potential for first chair trial opportunities for interested candidates

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Active California State Bar license
• 5-20 years of experience in personal injury or insurance defense law
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• In-depth knowledge of Discovery Rules and legal procedures
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent client relations and case management skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar
