A law firm seeks an experienced Eminent Domain Attorney to join its litigation team. This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong background in complex litigation and a particular focus on eminent domain, public agency acquisitions, and inverse condemnation. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of litigation experience, including jury trials. This position offers flexible work arrangements, including remote work options, with the expectation of collaboration across multiple offices.

Duties:

  • Represent public agencies and private entities in eminent domain and inverse condemnation cases.
  • Handle all aspects of complex litigation, including discovery, motions practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Conduct jury trials and represent clients in court.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on the acquisition of property through eminent domain and related legal matters.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop litigation strategies and resolve disputes.
  • Research and draft legal briefs, memoranda, and other documents in support of litigation efforts.
  • Work closely with colleagues and clients to navigate regulatory challenges and complex legal issues.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of complex litigation experience, including jury trial experience.
  • Experience in eminent domain, public agency acquisitions, and inverse condemnation litigation is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of property law and condemnation processes.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and handle multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in California.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Proven track record of successfully handling high-stakes litigation and achieving favorable outcomes.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Expertise in eminent domain and inverse condemnation law.
  • Strong trial and litigation skills, including the ability to manage complex cases from start to finish.
