Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a skilled Patent Agent to join their Patent Prosecution & Litigation team. This position focuses on Electrical Engineering & Software or Mechanical Engineering disciplines. The ideal candidate will have experience in patent prosecution, strong analytical skills, and a passion for intellectual property law. Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications, including preparation of responses to office actions
• Collaborate with clients and attorneys to develop and implement patent strategies
• Provide technical and legal analysis on patentability, infringement, and validity matters
• Assist in patent litigation support, including discovery, claim analysis, and expert reports
• Conduct patent searches and analyze patent portfolios
• Stay updated on trends and changes in intellectual property law, particularly related to electrical engineering, software, and mechanical disciplines

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in patent prosecution, including application drafting
• Registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
• Strong knowledge in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical fields such as mathematics or physics
• Experience or familiarity with other forms of intellectual property is a plus
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently with clients, attorneys, and technical teams
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

Education:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field (mathematics, physics, etc.)

Certifications:

• USPTO registration required
