A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join a dynamic legal team in Irvine, California. This full-time role is ideal for a mid- to senior-level attorney with 6 to 8 years of litigation experience. The position involves representing government entities in complex legal matters that impact local communities. Duties

  • Represent clients in complex civil litigation, including contract disputes, personal injury, employment matters, and more.
  • Manage cases from start to finish, including trial preparation, discovery, depositions, and motions.
  • Conduct legal research and draft clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, and dispositive motions.
  • Develop case strategies and interview witnesses to gather evidence for trial.
  • Work collaboratively with senior attorneys and support staff to meet deadlines and ensure case success.
  • Take depositions and represent clients in court.
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring organized documentation and meeting all deadlines.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on case status and strategy.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • An active member of the California State Bar in good standing.
  • 6 to 8 years of civil litigation experience, with demonstrated success in managing complex cases.
  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures, including deposition handling, motion preparation, and discovery responses.
  • Trial preparation experience, with the ability to develop case strategies and present cases in court.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including legal drafting and courtroom presentations.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple cases at once.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to maintain professionalism in all aspects of legal work.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California State Bar (required).
