Position Title: Senior Immigration Attorney

Job Overview: A distinguished law firm in Fresno, CA, is seeking a seasoned Senior Immigration Attorney to join its legal team. This role involves managing an active caseload, representing clients in various immigration proceedings, and collaborating with a skilled team of attorneys and legal assistants. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insight, professionalism, and a commitment to client advocacy within a dynamic legal environment.

Duties:

• Provide clear explanations of immigration concepts and propose tailored strategies for clients.
• Represent both detained and non-detained clients in immigration courts and before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Oversee an extensive caseload with attention to detail and efficiency.
• Conduct intake and visits with detained clients at designated centers.
• Prepare a wide range of immigration applications, including those related to removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review, revise, and submit immigration applications and packets as needed.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial entities, and community-based organizations on recent immigration law updates.
• Conduct consultations with potential clients to develop strategic legal paths.
• Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
• Analyze legal options and offer clients insights on potential case outcomes and benefits.
• Prepare and submit legal briefs across various immigration cases.

Requirements:

• 5-8 years of direct experience in immigration law.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively, offering strategic input and support to team members.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalism.
• Demonstrated success in managing cases effectively and moving them through the legal process.
• Prior experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian applications, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership and good standing with a State Bar.

Certifications:

• State Bar certification (active, with good standing required).

Skills:

• Strong case management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in case management software is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills for client interactions and court representation.
