A law firm seeks an experienced Employment Law Attorney to lead its employment law practice in downtown Sioux City, Iowa. This role is designed for an attorney with over five years of relevant experience who is dedicated to assisting clients in developing clear policies and effective strategies to enhance workforce productivity.

Duties:

  • Provide expert advice to employers on a comprehensive range of employment laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review employer policies, employee handbooks, contracts, and other related documents.
  • Evaluate and advise on employer practices and everyday decisions to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
  • Develop practical solutions to complex employment-related challenges.
  • Represent employers in court and during administrative, mediation, and arbitration proceedings.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Iowa, or the ability to obtain admission promptly.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in employment law.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant court and administrative procedures, as well as federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, along with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Commitment to professionalism and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team setting.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Iowa Bar, or eligibility to gain admission quickly.
