Job Overview

A prominent law firm is seeking a mid to senior-level associate with 3+ years of experience in employment counseling. This role will primarily involve supporting global and cross-border employment matters. The ideal candidate will possess strong international counseling experience and will frequently interact with other offices within the firm’s global employment practice. Responsibilities include advising on employment-related aspects of corporate transactions, reductions in force, employee terminations, restrictive covenants, employee mobility, and providing guidance to emerging companies. Flexibility and a willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.

Duties

  • Conduct employment diligence and advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate employment, retention, and related agreements.
  • Advise on reductions in force, employee terminations, and other workforce changes.
  • Draft restrictive covenants and provide counsel on employee mobility.
  • Advise and counsel emerging companies on various aspects of employment law.
  • Collaborate with offices across multiple locations in the firm’s global employment practice.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in employment counseling (domestic and/or international).
  • Experience with a direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice in the jurisdiction in which you are applying.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Sound business judgment and practical approach to legal issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong research skills and ability to think conceptually.
