Job Overview: A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a skilled Real Estate Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting and negotiating construction and development agreements, providing litigation support, and advising clients on various real estate matters.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate design, construction, and development agreements across diverse industry sectors.
  • Provide transactional and litigation support for construction and development projects.
  • Advise clients on claims management, including change orders, extra work claims, delays, and construction defects.
  • Assist with construction-related adversarial matters, including litigation and arbitration.
  • Work closely with construction teams on litigation and arbitration cases, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing motions, and participating in depositions, mediations, and hearings.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the DC Bar.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction contracting and related development.
  • Familiarity with industry form agreements such as AIA and similar forms.
  • Experience with litigation or arbitration related to construction projects preferred.
