Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, governing documents, and transactional agreements related to real estate developments and homeowner associations.
  • Advise clients on legal compliance, governance, and operational matters for common interest developments.
  • Conduct legal research to support advisory opinions and strategic recommendations.
  • Analyze and interpret existing contracts and governing documents, proposing updates or revisions when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the firm’s litigation team when transactional matters escalate into disputes.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, ensuring proactive updates and responsive service.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing deadlines and client expectations.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior attorneys or staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on transactional real estate or HOA law.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, governing documents, and California laws related to common interest developments.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and research abilities.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in handling contracts, document amendments, and compliance reviews.
  • Experience working in a remote or hybrid environment preferred.
  • Strong client communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team collaboration.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active and in good standing with the California State Bar.
