A law firm in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, substantial law firm or clerkship experience, and excellent problem-solving, writing, and communication skills. This role involves handling complex litigation related to financial services, including commercial real estate, distressed loans, and creditor and lender liability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in financial services litigation cases involving commercial real estate, distressed loans, debt and security instruments, and creditor and lender liability.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Manage all aspects of discovery, including taking and defending depositions, preparing interrogatories, and overseeing document production.
  • Prepare for and participate in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Negotiate settlements and engage in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) as needed.
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to develop and implement case strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files, ensuring compliance with procedural deadlines.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation or clerkship experience, with a focus on financial services, commercial real estate, and distressed loans.
  • Demonstrated experience in taking and defending depositions and participating in courtroom proceedings.
  • High level of academic achievement and proven problem-solving abilities.
