A law firm is seeking a Tech Transactions and Data Privacy (Incident Response) Associate Attorney to join its dynamic legal team in New York City. Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage all elements of case work-up and trial preparation in privacy litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research, draft briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, memoranda, and discovery requests.
• Offer practical legal advice on privacy and data security laws to clients.
• Interact directly with clients, providing consultation and updates on case progress.
• Work on sophisticated legal matters, including complex data breach incidents and regulatory compliance.
• Stay updated with federal, state, and international privacy laws, guiding incident response protocols.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of data privacy policies and agreements.
• Collaborate with partners, other associates, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.

Requirements

• Significant experience in privacy litigation, preferably within a law firm or similar legal environment.
• Proven ability to manage all aspects of legal casework, including discovery, pretrial motions, and trial preparation.
• Strong legal research and writing skills, with experience drafting a variety of legal documents.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with clients.
• Experience handling client matters independently and providing practical, real-world legal advice.
• Superior problem-solving skills, capable of handling complex cases with creative solutions.
• Knowledge and experience with federal, state, and international privacy laws, including data breach and cybersecurity regulations, is a strong plus.

Education and Certifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in New York State.
• Excellent academic credentials demonstrated through law school and prior legal work.
