Job Overview:

A law firm based in Boston, MA is seeking a CFIUS and International Trade/Export Controls Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience in international trade regulatory compliance and enforcement. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the Committee on Foreign Investments (CFIUS), U.S. export controls, and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), with a preference for general knowledge of the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS). The candidate must be admitted and actively barred in Massachusetts.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on CFIUS regulations and compliance.
  • Provide legal counsel on U.S. export controls, including ITAR and EAR (Export Administration Regulations).
  • Handle cases related to the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS) and other trade compliance matters.
  • Develop and implement compliance programs for clients to adhere to international trade regulations.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and disputes related to international trade and export controls.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, reports, and regulatory filings.
  • Stay updated on changes in trade regulations and provide strategic guidance accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders on international trade matters.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in international trade regulatory compliance and enforcement.
  • Proven experience with CFIUS and U.S. export controls.
  • Knowledge of ITAR and a general understanding of DPAS.
  • Must be admitted and actively barred in Massachusetts.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar admission in Massachusetts.

Skills:
