Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking an experienced Foreclosure Attorney admitted to the New York State Bar to join its creditor's rights practice. The ideal candidate will have court experience or a strong willingness to learn and engage in court proceedings. The role involves handling foreclosure cases, appearing in court for settlement conferences, motions, and status hearings, and managing a variety of foreclosure-related legal tasks. This is a hybrid position, offering the opportunity to work from the office in Bay Shore or New York City and attend court in several New York counties.

Location:

  • Bay Shore, NY

Duties:

  • Handle foreclosure files, including reviewing files, conducting legal research, and drafting pleadings
  • Appear in Supreme Court in the 5 boroughs and Nassau & Suffolk Counties for settlement conferences, motions, and status hearings
  • Represent clients in foreclosure actions and manage all aspects of foreclosure litigation
  • Provide counsel and legal representation in creditor’s rights matters
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to manage case progression
  • Title experience is a plus, but not required

Requirements:

  • Admitted to the New York State Bar
  • Court experience preferred or willingness to learn court procedures
  • Must be able to appear in court in the 5 boroughs, Nassau & Suffolk Counties
  • Strong knowledge of foreclosure law and creditor’s rights
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases independently
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar

  • Foreclosure and litigation experience
  • Courtroom experience or willingness to learn
