A law firm in Naples, FL, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in trusts and estates, with a strong background in complex estate planning, asset protection planning, trust and estate settlement, and taxation. International estate planning experience is a plus. The candidate must have an LL.M. in Estate Planning or Taxation, a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school, and be a member of The Florida Bar.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on complex estate planning strategies, including wills, trusts, and power of attorney.
  • Develop and implement asset protection plans to safeguard clients' assets.
  • Administer estates and trusts, including the preparation and filing of probate documents.
  • Prepare and review estate tax returns and gift tax returns.
  • Counsel clients on tax implications of estate planning and develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Manage trust and estate settlement processes, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Guide on international estate planning matters, including cross-border tax and estate issues.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, accountants, and financial advisors to create comprehensive estate plans.
  • Represent clients in estate and trust litigation when necessary.
  • Keep abreast of changes in estate planning laws and regulations to provide the most current advice to clients.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in trusts and estates.
  • Proven expertise in complex estate planning, asset protection, trust and estate settlement, and taxation.
  • International estate planning experience is a plus.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and cases simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality client service.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • LL.M. in Estate Planning or Taxation.

Certifications:

  • Member of The Florida Bar.

Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state estate tax laws.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Expertise in drafting legal documents related to estate planning and administration.
