Job Overview:
A client-focused law firm in Vancouver, Washington is seeking a compassionate and experienced Associate Attorney to support its growing Estate Planning and Elder Law practice. Location:

Duties:

Client Support:

  • Manage assigned estate planning and elder law cases under supervision of senior attorneys

  • Prepare and review legal documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related instruments

  • Provide clear, compassionate guidance to clients throughout the planning process

Case Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure timely case progress

  • Assist with elder law-related matters and coordinate with senior attorneys on strategy

Legal Research and Drafting:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support client matters

  • Draft pleadings, memoranda, and internal legal documentation as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on estate planning or elder law

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating within a team

  • High level of professionalism, including strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence

  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality legal work

  • Familiarity with estate tax planning is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Oregon or Washington (or both), in good standing

  • Willingness and ability to obtain additional licensure, if needed

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strong research and legal analysis capabilities

  • Proficiency with legal technology, including document management and legal research tools

  • Ability to work compassionately with elderly and emotionally sensitive clients
