Position Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A distinguished law firm in New York City, NY, is looking for a dedicated Associate Attorney specializing in Liability Risk Management with a focus on insurance matters. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of legal experience. The attorney will provide legal counsel on a wide range of insurance and liability management issues, including risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders to formulate and execute effective insurance strategies, as well as perform in-depth legal research and analysis.

Duties:

• Assist the Liability Risk Management team on matters concerning complex commercial insurance coverage.
• Draft and negotiate policy language for various financial lines and insurance policies.
• Prepare claims advocacy correspondence on behalf of clients.
• Offer legal advice to clients and internal teams on insurance matters related to restructuring, litigation, and M&A transactions.
• Conduct legal research related to liability risk management and provide detailed legal analysis.
• Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations impacting liability risk management, adjusting policies and procedures as necessary.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of relevant legal experience, particularly in commercial insurance.
• Strong experience in areas such as litigation or M&A is advantageous.
• Ability to handle time-sensitive projects efficiently with sound judgment.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented with a team-focused mindset.
• Adaptable to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be admitted to the New York Bar.
