Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tech Transactions and Data Privacy (Incident Response) Associate Attorney to join their team. This role involves working on complex privacy litigation, and data breach incidents, and advising clients on data privacy compliance. The ideal candidate should have significant litigation experience, excellent legal research and writing skills, and a deep understanding of privacy laws at the federal, state, and international levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of case work-up and trial preparation, including client interaction, discovery, and drafting legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research, draft briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, memoranda, and discovery requests.
  • Provide practical and strategic legal advice on data privacy, cybersecurity, and incident response matters.
  • Handle privacy litigation, including data breaches and other cybersecurity-related disputes.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and international privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
  • Assist with the response to data breach incidents and manage all phases of incident response, including legal and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide comprehensive legal counsel.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and developments in data privacy laws and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Significant litigation experience, particularly in managing case work-up and trial preparation.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills, with experience drafting briefs, complaints, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Knowledge and experience with federal, state, and international privacy laws, such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, is highly preferred.
  • Ability to offer practical and business-minded advice to clients on complex legal matters.
  • Immediate client interaction and the ability to work on sophisticated cases from the outset.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Florida or eligibility for admission to the Florida Bar.
