Generalist Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Fresno, CA, is seeking a Generalist Associate Attorney to provide legal counsel and support to K-12 schools and community colleges, helping them address a wide range of operational legal issues. The ideal candidate should possess excellent research and analytical skills, along with a strong understanding of education law and related regulations.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and analysis on various operational, legal issues faced by K-12 schools and community colleges.
• Advise clients on matters related to education law, contracts, employment, and compliance.
• Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and policies.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and administrative proceedings.
• Provide legal guidance on student rights, special education, and discipline matters.
• Stay updated on changes in education law and regulations to ensure compliance and provide proactive counsel.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
• Assist in preparing and presenting training sessions or seminars on relevant legal topics.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in the state of California.
• 2+ years of experience as an attorney, preferably in education law or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of education law, including relevant state and federal regulations.
• Excellent research and analytical skills.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Certifications (Optional):

• Certification in Education Law (e.g., from a relevant bar association) is a plus
