Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney for its Insurance Coverage practice group in New York, NY. The successful candidate will have strong writing, research, and litigation skills, with a focus on handling complex insurance coverage matters. Location:

• New York, NY

Duties:

• Review case files and perform legal analysis of claims and causes of action
• Conduct extensive legal research and draft substantial legal documents, including briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
• Meet the annual billable requirement of 1950 hours
• Represent clients regularly in court, at arbitrations, and during depositions
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Assist with expert witness retention and collaboration
• Participate in trial preparation and attend trials
• Occasional travel may be required

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in insurance coverage (preferred, but not required)
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admission to practice law in the state of New York (admission to other states is a plus, but not required)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Exceptional research, writing, and oral communication skills
• Ability to self-manage and collaborate effectively in a team environment
• Timely responsiveness to emails and phone inquiries
• Excellent client communication skills and professional telephone manner

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (other state bar admissions are a plus, but not required)
