A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Health Care Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of civil litigation experience, with a preference for experience representing healthcare and long-term care facilities. This role requires strong research, writing, and analytical skills, as well as an interest in contributing to business development initiatives. Illinois Bar admission is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle civil litigation matters in both state and federal courts, with a focus on health care and long-term care facility cases.
  • Draft and file legal pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and develop new legal theories.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Provide comprehensive case management, including client communication and case updates.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and team members on case strategy and business development initiatives.
  • Assist in the development of business opportunities and client relationships.
  • Review and analyze complex legal documents and evidence to build strong case arguments.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate case records and documentation.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in civil litigation, with experience in health care and/or long-term care facility representation preferred.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Interest in participating in business development and client relationship activities.
  • Must be admitted to and in good standing with the Illinois Bar.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Illinois Bar license.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and managing litigation processes.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities to support case strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and develop effective solutions.
