A law firm in Charlotte is seeking a Senior Aviation Finance Associate Attorney/Counsel to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience representing lenders and/or lessors of commercial aircraft in leasing, purchase and sale, and financing transactions. The candidate should demonstrate excellent academic performance, strong interpersonal skills, and a preference for leading both domestic and cross-border transactions.

Job Duties:

  • Represent lenders and/or lessors in leasing, purchase and sale, and financing transactions for commercial aircraft.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents, including lease agreements, purchase agreements, financing agreements, and related documents.
  • Lead both domestic and cross-border transactions, providing strategic legal advice and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Conduct due diligence and prepare legal opinions on finance-related matters.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and provide tailored legal solutions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams within the firm, including corporate, tax, and litigation departments.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in aviation finance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing high-quality, responsive legal service.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the North Carolina State Bar or ability to waive in promptly.
  • 4-6 years of experience representing lenders and/or lessors of commercial aircraft in leasing, purchase and sale, and financing transactions.
  • Excellent academic performance and a proven track record of success in previous roles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work efficiently under pressure.

Preferred Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of aviation finance law and related legal frameworks.
  • Experience leading both domestic and cross-border transactions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Certifications:
