Job Overview
A well-established law firm is seeking a talented Mid-Level Commercial Litigation Trial Associate to join its dynamic Trial and Litigation Practice in Miami. This role is perfect for candidates with at least three years of experience in commercial litigation and/or arbitration, particularly in trial settings. The successful candidate will be expected to manage complex cases, engage in legal research and drafting, handle discovery processes, and provide strategic guidance to clients. Strong oral and written advocacy skills, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, are essential for this position.

Duties

  • Manage commercial litigation cases, including trial preparation and participation
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies
  • Handle traditional and electronic discovery processes
  • Appear in state and federal courts, including participation in trials and hearings
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies and case management plans
  • Communicate with clients to provide case updates and offer legal counsel
  • Mentor junior associates and assist with team development
  • Stay informed on legal developments, particularly in commercial litigation and arbitration

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial litigation and/or arbitration
  • Proven experience with trials and/or final hearings
  • Strong legal research, writing, and discovery management skills
  • Ability to handle complex casework and develop creative litigation strategies
  • Must be self-driven, organized, and capable of working independently
  • Admission to the Florida Bar or eligibility for admission

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Preference for candidates ranked in the top of their law school class or graduates from a top-tier law school
  • Federal clerkship experience and interest in international disputes are a plus

Certifications

  • Admission to the Florida Bar, or eligibility for admission
