Duties:

• Provide legal representation for detained and non-detained individuals in immigration proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
• Manage a varied caseload, ensuring timely and thorough case preparation and client interactions.
• Conduct consultations with potential clients to assess case strategy and needs.
• Prepare a wide array of immigration applications, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and humanitarian applications.
• Review and refine immigration applications and petitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with immigration law.
• Advocate and collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding changes in immigration policies.
• Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony before USCIS and in court proceedings.
• Draft and submit legal briefs and motions for a variety of immigration matters.
• Maintain clear and organized communication with clients, providing updates and legal advice as necessary.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of immigration law experience, with significant exposure to family-based petitions, removal defense, and USCIS applications.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach to legal practice.
• Ability to manage and prioritize a substantial caseload efficiently.
• Knowledge of case management software is a plus.
• Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in California.
