A law firm seeks a dedicated and driven Associate Attorney to join its team in Seattle, Washington. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney to gain hands-on experience in a variety of plaintiff's law cases, including professional negligence, personal injury, and nationwide consumer fraud class actions. The firm provides an immersive environment, where you will actively engage in all aspects of litigation and trial lawyering, from client interaction to case resolution both in and out of the courtroom. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn and grow within the practice of plaintiff's law.

Duties

  • Assist in handling a diverse caseload of plaintiff’s law matters, including personal injury, professional negligence, and class actions.
  • Represent clients in litigation, providing expert legal advice and counsel throughout the process.
  • Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Participate in discovery, depositions, and pretrial preparation.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys in formulating case strategies and trial preparation.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and witnesses to gather necessary information and move cases forward.
  • Participate in hearings, mediations, and trial proceedings.
  • Stay current on legal developments in the field of plaintiff’s law and contribute to continuous improvement within the firm.

Requirements

  • 1-4 years of experience in litigation or personal injury law is preferred.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills, with an ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
  • Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with a team of experienced attorneys.
  • Motivated and eager to learn all aspects of plaintiff’s law, including client management, litigation, and trial strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, witnesses, and other legal professionals.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington State.

Skills

  • Strong litigation skills with experience in drafting and filing legal documents.
  • Knowledge of personal injury law, professional negligence, and class action procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle a busy caseload.
