Job Overview:
A growing law firm specializing in immigration law is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Immigration Attorney to lead its immigration practice. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of immigration law, including deportation proceedings, asylum cases, and family-based immigration. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing an immigration practice and working directly with clients to navigate complex legal issues. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the firm's immigration practice and contribute to the success of its clients.

Location:

  • Miami, FL

Duties:

  • Lead and manage the firm's immigration practice
  • Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients in various immigration matters
  • Manage client intake, consultations, case evaluations, and legal service agreements
  • Draft, review, and file immigration-related documents, such as I-130s, I-485s, naturalization applications, and asylum forms
  • Represent clients in immigration court, including deportation defense, removal proceedings, and bond hearings
  • Handle complex immigration cases related to family-based immigration, employment visas, asylum claims, and waivers
  • Collaborate with clients to gather documentation and build effective legal strategies
  • Guide and mentor junior attorneys and staff in the immigration department
  • Stay up-to-date on immigration law and policy changes, applying knowledge to client cases
  • Maintain a full caseload, meeting deadlines while ensuring high standards of client service and legal work

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in immigration law, including litigation, deportation proceedings, and asylum cases
  • Strong leadership and client management skills
  • Experience in handling complex family-based immigration, employment visas, and waivers
  • Proven ability to manage a team and provide guidance to junior attorneys and staff
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload and maintain a high standard of legal work
  • Excellent client communication skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership (required)

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law and litigation
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities
  • Proficiency in drafting immigration documents and petitions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to handle complex legal cases and build strategic case plans
