A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of experience in litigation and be licensed to practice law in North Carolina. This is a full-time, remote-friendly position with opportunities for professional growth and mentorship. Duties

  • Review new files, establish action plans, determine budgets, and provide case recommendations.
  • Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Draft and manage discovery responses, and oversee document production processes.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, preparing detailed reports.
  • Negotiate settlements and manage case strategy, including preparing for trial as needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with paralegals, legal assistants, and other team members to ensure smooth case management.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on insurance law preferred.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building strong client relationships and collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven work environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the North Carolina State Bar.

Skills

  • Strong research, writing, and legal drafting abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and a willingness to learn new systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain thorough case records.
