Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join the Healthcare & Insurance Division in St. Louis, Missouri. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with 3-6 years of experience in health law, offering the chance to advise healthcare providers, health plans, PBMs, pharmaceutical companies, and medical device manufacturers. The firm’s division provides both transactional and regulatory counsel, and the position presents a strong platform for professional growth and development in health law.

Location:

Duties:

  • Provide regulatory and transactional counsel to healthcare providers, health plans, PBMs, medical device manufacturers, and pharmaceutical companies.
  • Advise on healthcare-related compliance matters and regulatory issues.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements in the healthcare sector.
  • Offer legal guidance on matters involving health information technology and managed care plans.
  • Conduct legal research and draft reports or legal memoranda.
  • Participate in client meetings and assist in developing legal strategies.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to support complex health law matters.
  • Contribute to business development activities to expand the practice.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in health law, either in a law firm, health-related regulatory agency, or the healthcare industry.
  • Regulatory and transactional experience with healthcare providers, health plans, PBMs, pharmaceutical, medical device manufacturers, or health information technology companies.
  • Experience with managed care plans is a plus.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Active license in the applicable jurisdiction or ability to waive in.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters and provide practical solutions for clients.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar license in the applicable state (or ability to waive in).

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in drafting and reviewing legal documents and contracts.
  • Ability to manage multiple legal matters concurrently and efficiently.
