Associate Attorney needed for Purchase office

Job Overview:
A multi-state insurance defense firm is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join its Purchase, NY office. This is a full-time position with a hybrid work option available. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of litigation experience in areas such as bodily injury, premises liability, automobile liability, wrongful death, or product defect. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential. Attorneys licensed in New York are required, with Connecticut admission considered a plus. Location:

• Purchase, NY

Duties:

• Manage own caseload with oversight from partners
• Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
• Conduct legal research and write memorandums
• Attend hearings and court conferences
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Participate in inspections and other case-related activities
• Consult with expert witnesses
• Attend mediations and assist in trial preparation
• Support trial efforts, including preparing case files and legal documents

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of litigation experience in bodily injury, premises liability, automobile liability, wrongful death, or product defect claims
• Licensed to practice in New York (Connecticut Bar license is a plus)
• Ability to independently manage cases with guidance from senior attorneys
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Organized and able to handle multiple cases efficiently

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• New York Bar License (Required)
• Connecticut Bar License (Preferred, but not required)

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing abilities
• Proficient in drafting legal documents (motions, pleadings, discovery responses)
• Ability to conduct and defend depositions
• Knowledge of insurance defense and personal injury law
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines
