Immigration Attorney

Job Title: Immigration Attorney (Consular Processing Focus)

Job Overview:
A law firm in Sacramento, CA is seeking a skilled and dynamic Immigration Attorney with experience in consular processing and related immigration matters. The candidate will play a key role in managing caseloads, interacting with clients, and working alongside a team of attorneys and legal assistants to deliver strategic legal solutions in immigration law. Duties:

• Provide legal counsel on immigration processes, including strategic advice for various immigration cases.
• Represent clients in immigration court and before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a diverse workload, including detained and non-detained cases.
• Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers.
• Prepare and review immigration applications such as removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Adjust and update immigration application packets as necessary.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations regarding changes in immigration law.
• Meet with potential clients to offer consultations and develop tailored legal strategies.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances or USCIS testimony.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

• 1-4 years of experience practicing Immigration Law.
• Ability to work collaboratively and strategize with team members.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and the legal team.
• Proven ability to manage caseloads and successfully move cases forward.
• Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, citizenship applications, and other USCIS matters.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in good standing.

Skills:

• Proficiency in immigration case management software is preferred.
• Strong analytical, legal research, and writing skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure with excellent time management.
• Adaptable and able to handle complex legal matters with minimal supervision.
