Trusts & Estates Associate

Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate with 3-8 years of experience. This position offers flexibility, with candidates able to be based in either the New York or Philadelphia office. The role requires significant expertise in estate planning and estate administration, with preference given to candidates with some litigation experience. The ideal candidate will also hold an LLM in Tax, although it is not mandatory. The firm values self-motivated, personable team players with excellent academic credentials and a strong professional background. Admission to practice in New York and/or Pennsylvania is required. Location:

Duties:

• Manage estate planning and administration cases for clients
• Provide legal counsel on complex trusts, estates, and related matters
• Handle a diverse range of estate administration and estate planning tasks
• Participate in some estate and trust-related litigation matters
• Cultivate relationships with clients and offer strategic legal advice
• Assist in the development of junior associates and support staff
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and ethical standards

Requirements:

• 3-8 years of experience in Trusts & Estates law, including estate planning and administration
• Experience with estate and trust-related litigation is preferred
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Admitted to practice law in New York and/or Pennsylvania

Education:

• JD from an accredited law school
• LLM in Tax is preferred but not required

Certifications:

• Admission to practice in New York and/or Pennsylvania required

Skills:

• Strong understanding of estate planning, administration, and related laws
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage complex legal matters
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work with high-net-worth clients and provide tailored legal advice
