Job Overview:
A multi-state real estate and creditors' rights law firm is looking to hire an Associate Attorney to support its Missouri practice. Location:

  • Charlotte, NC

Duties:

  • Handle a substantial volume of cases related to creditors' rights, real estate, and bankruptcy.
  • Conduct discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Represent clients in court and manage legal hearings.
  • Support appellate processes and provide legal strategies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and industry professionals.
  • Contribute to the firm's growth and be an active participant in team efforts.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and foster a collaborative work environment.

Requirements:

  • Must be a member in good standing of the Missouri Bar.
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Missouri federal district and bankruptcy courts.
  • Newly licensed attorneys are welcome to apply; 5+ years of litigation experience preferred.
  • Strong interest and capacity for handling creditors' rights cases.
  • Experience in discovery, depositions, and resolving conflicts.
  • Appellate experience and familiarity with TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code preferred.
  • Leadership capabilities with a focus on teamwork and mentorship.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to explain complex legal matters.
  • Ability to proactively build and maintain industry relationships.
  • Willing to travel for court appearances as necessary.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Missouri State Bar required.
  • Additional Bar licenses are a plus.
