Job Overview:
A reputable law firm located in Houston, TX, is actively seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its growing team. This role demands a skilled professional with a proven track record in handling civil litigation and insurance defense matters. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience and be adept at managing cases through to trial while working both independently and collaboratively with other legal professionals.

Duties:

• Handle complex civil insurance defense cases, ensuring high-quality client service and case management.
• Manage cases through all stages, from pre-litigation through trial, including depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
• Negotiate settlements and develop strategic approaches to case resolution.
• Maintain direct communication with clients, providing updates and advising on case progress.
• Prepare legal documents and manage deadlines efficiently.
• Work alongside a team of attorneys, paralegals, and other staff, maintaining a cooperative and proactive environment.
• Participate in continuing legal education (CLE) and industry events to enhance legal skills and network.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years' experience in Insurance Defense and civil litigation.
• Proven ability to handle a caseload independently, including litigation, depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
• High level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
• Additional licensure in other states is a plus.
